one bracket per foot of Coronado Box (i.e., a 48"L box would require

grommet, sensor tube, soil separator fabric and root confuser discs.
All parts shall be included with Coronado Boxes at installation and
shall be removable and replaceable.
- Bioguard Root Control Fabric: To prevent plant roots clogging the inlet holes, leading to premature failure of system. Bioguard is EPA-registered root control fabric coated with Trifluralin, a herbicide that prevents root cell division. Biobarrier cut into 3" squares by Planter Technology, Inc.
3.0 EXECUTION
3.1 PREPARATION
- Prior to Coronado Box fabrication, the contractor shall verify as-built dimensions of planter areas to ensure proper size, fit and quantity required. 2
3.2 INSTALLATION
- Space brackets evenly along length of unit. Firmly screw bracket into wall, or into railing (if applicable)
- Install liners level to permit adequate drainage and irrigation.
- Do not trim or modify the Coronado Box in any way without first consulting with and receiving approval from the manufacturer.
- Excess rainwater buildup can lead to "root rot" and less healthy plants. On-site drain installation by contractor may compromise integrity of vacuum reservoir and is not recommended. Exterior drains are supplied by manufacturer with removable stopper to control drainage.
- Field verification of actual planter receptacle size is frequently overlooked by the contractor, and can lead to delays and additional cost if neglected.
