Planter Technology's Container Irrigation Systems, like any functioning systems, typically require parts that need to be changed out every 3-5 years. This page gives a listing of the various parts that may be required, which product they are associated with, and the model number. Check with your distributor for availability.

CWI and CWI Classic Training Video — Explains and trains use of the CWI and CWI Classic container irrigation systems. Done at a level which can be understood by all, whether field personnel or customers. Each video has 2 presentations, the first is 15 min. of English, the second is 17 min. of Spanish. Model Nr. is CWI-VID. The English version is also available as web video.

Replacement Sensors — The sensor is the brains of the system. They are used on each container irrigation product featuring Planter Technology's Controlled Watering System (CWS). They may discolor or clog after 4-5 years. They are typically sized for each individual product, so consult the Replacement Sensor Chart to determine the correct replacement part number.

Long Replacement Sensors for CWI — Many of our customers have requested longer sensors for the CWI. These are primarily used for plants that need less water, or for plants in very low light conditions. The longer sensors are able to be set deeper into the soil, effectively creating a drier soil mass. In order to differentiate the long replacement sensors from standard ones, the long replacements use blue tubing

Stoppers — The rubber plug that seals the fill hole on all container irrigation systems. They come in a wide variety of sizes, depending on the product. Typically made of natural rubber, they may dry out and crack after being exposed to the environment over 3-5 years. Consult the Stoppers Chart to determine the correct replacement part number.

Grommets – The small rubber grommet secures the sensor to the planter wall. New one-sided grommets make replacement easy. Model Nr. GRP is a package of 12 grommets, and can be used for all decorative planters and container irrigation systems (with the exception of SeaCrest Series Containers) manufactured after 1989. For older products, use the traditional double-sided grommet, model nr. GRP-O.

Inlet Disks – The 1" white porous disk that is found at the bottom of a Natural Spring, CWS Planter Liner, SeaCrest Series and Coronado Box planter. This restricts the flow of water from the reservoir into the planting area. They can clog over time, so replacement is recommended every 3-5 years, or when changing out plants or other parts. Model Nr. IDP is a package of 12 inlet disks. For SeaCrest Series planters, use Nr. IDP-SS.

Retainer Rings – The 1" black rubber washer used to hold an Inlet Disk (see above) in place. Rarely wears out, but may be lost while changing parts. Model Nr. RRP is a package of 12 retainer rings.

BioGuard Squares – Impregnated root control squares prevents roots from growing into reservoirs. Prevents premature failure of all container irrigation systems due to roots. Use as a replacement for root confuser disk, and root confuser fabric (see below).

Root Confuser Disk – 3" white solid plastic disk, used to help prevent roots from growing into container irrigation reservoirs. Used with Natural Spring, SeaCrest Series, CWS Planter Liners, and Coronado Box planters. Model Nr. RCDP is a package of 12 root confuser disks.

Root Confuser Fabric – Gray landscape fabric which aids in preventing roots from growing into the container irrigation reservoir. Covers the entire bottom of the planter, and runs up the sidewalls as well. Typically used in conjunction with Root Confuser Disks, shown above. Model Nr. RCFP, combined with the planter type and size, is a package of 12 pre-cut squares.

Spare Parts Assortment – The solution when refurbishing a single Natural Spring container. Includes one of each of the parts listed above. Specify SPA, planter size and stopper color when ordering.

Plastic Funnels – Inexpensive, practical tool for filling Natural Spring, CWS Planter Liners, Coronado Box, and CWI Container Irrigation systems. Model Nr. FUP includes 6 1 qt. plastic funnels.

Natural Leafshine - A standard for many interior landscape companies. Our proprietary alcohol-based formula leaves a natural lustre, without being too "plastic-shiny". HM-10 – Time Release Fertilizer for Sub-Irrigation Systems. An easy-to-use, smart fertilizer system which releases Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorus and 10 important trace minerals evenly and consistently over time.
